Deadlock Old Gods, New Blood Update Adds New Heroes, Game Mode And More

After noticing suspiciously high activity in the pizzerias near Valve’s HQ, Deadlock players knew something was up. They were right. The latest major Deadlock update is further evidence of how committed Valve’s developer team is. Titled Old Gods, New Blood, this update brings new characters, major fixes, and even a new game mode. Even though the game is still in development, the team has shown they are ready for the live-service element of Deadlock.

For the new heroes, the voting system from the previous update is back. Players need to complete matches to gain votes; the two heroes with the most votes will unlock that week. Voting begins on January 26, and heroes will unlock on Mondays and Thursdays. These heroes lean more into the supernatural, with werewolves like Silver, owl-like creatures such as Rem, unicorns like Celeste, necromancy with Graves, devil horns with Apollo, and spirituality with Venator. In-game sprays have also been added, along with an MVP screen at the end of each match.

With each new update the Deadlock team keeps discovering more of their unique art style blend of supernatural and noir.

You will be able to try these heroes in the new fast-paced game mode, Street Brawl. Street Brawl is a 4v4 mode in which players must advance across the map each round. Rounds end when a team destroys the rival’s tower. Each team has the same number of resources and must select three random items per round. The patrons have also been updated with a more supernatural look, with the Hidden King representing dark magic and the Archmother symbolizing order and power. The troopers now have a more unique appearance for each team as well. Other additions in this update include UI improvements, map changes, new music, improvements to the troopers’ AI, and more.

While Deadlock is still an invite-only game, there are thousands of players because each player has unlimited invites to send to their friendsAre you one of those lucky ones or are you still looking for a code?
