Released in 2025 following a successful Early Access period, The Wandering Village is a unique city builder with survival elements. In a world overrun by toxic spores, players are responsible for safeguarding a village on the back of a massive dinosaur-like creature called Onbu. During the 2026 Wholesome Direct broadcast, developer Stray Fawn Studio announced The Last Leviathan, a DLC featuring an all-new village atop an all-new creature.

The new Leviathan is an amphibian who can travel both on land and in water. It is host to a village of its own, which features new buildings to construct, new resources to utilize, and a new tech tree to expand and upgrade. The DLC, which does not currently have an official release date, promises hours of brand-new content to explore.
The Last Leviathan is planned to release alongside a major free update for the base game. New features focus on expanding and deepening the ways in which players can interact with Onbu, the beloved dinosaur-like being who gives the village its home. These will include the ability to monitor Onbu’s mood and body temperature to keep the creature happy and healthy. These interactions will also be possible with the new Leviathan creature.

There will also be new cosmetics to experiment with and a new biome, the Arctic Ocean, which you will be able to travel through. Like the game’s pre-existing biomes, the Arctic Ocean will require you to keep an eye on the health and safety of your villagers and craft buildings and other improvements to safely make your way through the extreme weather. Make sure to keep your villagers – and Onbu and the Leviathan – warm enough!
The Wandering Village’s The Last Leviathan DLC and the accompanying free update do not currently have a set release date. The DLC and update will both debut for all of the following platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. for more indie and wholesome game news coverage, check out our other Wholesome Direct news, and stay tuned to GameObserver in the future!
