Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault – Beginner Tips

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a roguelite game where you play as Will, a merchant, who has to raid these dungeons in search of Relics. You’ll then have to sell these Relics at your store inside the town of Tresna. You’ll have to get used to this new town because Rynoka is under Moloch’s control. The following beginner tips will help you get up to speed as you explore these unique dungeons and prepare for what they have in store for you.

Plan Your Goal Ahead

You go to the dungeon for two reasons: to grab Relics or to attempt to face the boss. Planning beforehand lets you pick up relevant nodes. Some nodes yield more valuable relics, while the other ones give you combat perks.

These combat perks make it easy to fight against the dungeon boss. Even if you attempt to fight against the boss and lose, you won’t have to worry about losing the quality of precious Relics. If you’ve got some Relics, you can choose to return to the town by using Will’s Pendant.

Set Prices Accordingly

There are four reactions of your customers depending on the price you’ve set for a specific Relic in your store: Cheap, Good, A little Expensive, and Too Expensive. If the price is Too Expensive, the customers won’t buy the Relic at all.

The Cheap and Good prices can raise customer satisfaction. You’ll have to sell a few Relics at these prices to unlock shop perks. You can spot the satisfaction bar when you step behind the counter. It is colored green with a green heart icon to the right. Once the satisfaction bar is full, you can react to the device to the left of the counter to select a perk from the random choices.

These perks stay active till you’ve sold all your relics or until you close down the shop. After the satisfaction bar is full, you can set the prices to be a Little Expensive to get more gold out of successful sales.

Once a customer has given a negative reaction, you can always adjust the price immediately after for the next customer.

Don’t Forget To Upgrade

While you’ll gradually encounter more recipes in the dungeon for weapons, you can also upgrade them to increase their effectiveness. Getting a new weapon might provide more of a flat bonus, but it requires more resources, and you need a recipe for the weapon as well, which can be obtained from dungeons.

On the other hand, you can upgrade weapons using fewer resources, and upgrading also helps you improve your firepower as you progress deeper into the dungeon. You can also craft armor once you’ve obtained the recipes. Likewise, you can interact with the potion shop to purchase more healing charges for your future dungeon runs.

You can gather the upgrade materials by progressing in the dungeon, while the gold can be obtained by selling Relics in the shop.

Don’t Take Risks

Whenever you’re out adventuring to gather the Relics, always be ready to return to town. You can use the Pendant to immediately teleport back to town. This saves you from the risk of being defeated in the dungeon and losing the value of your Relics.

Once you’ve got your backpack full of decent Relics, or if you’re low on health, feel free to use the Pendant to return to town. It is far better to sell what you have instead of losing out on gold by risking a fight.
