Xbox could soon unveil another special edition controller. After releasing themed controllers for Forza Horizon 6, the company is now expected to launch the “Storm King” controller for Gears of War: E-Day. According to the ever-reliable leaker billbil-kun, who shared the information through Dealabs, Xbox will officially announce the Storm King controller within the next two weeks.
The controller will accompany the promotional campaign for Gears of War: E-Day, which launches on October 6, exclusively for Xbox Series X|S and PC. As mentioned earlier, this themed hardware follows Microsoft’s recent Xbox releases, with exclusive titles such as DOOM: The Dark Ages and Forza Horizon 6 also receiving their own special edition controllers.
The design is said to be inspired by the world of Gears of War, featuring a cracked red-and-black finish that resembles volcanic rock. One of its standout details is the contrast between both sides of the controller. The left stick and the A, B, and Y buttons remain in a simple black color, while the right stick and the X button use a blood-red finish to create a contrast. The iconic Gears of War logo also surrounds the A, B, X, and Y buttons. Although Xbox has not officially confirmed the controller yet, billbil-kun describes it as the most “beautiful Xbox controller” he has seen in a very long time.
