Warhorse Studios is working on something new, and it already sounds big. During a recent Reddit AMA, the team confirmed they are developing a “huge, immersive RPG”, keeping things in line with what they usually do.
Content director Ondrej Bittner explained, “I can’t disclose details but I can tell it is a huge, immersive RPG,” and also said the project will stay “true to our colours”, meaning a story-focused game with a lot of detail, just like their previous titles. It is still early, so they didn’t share much, but this is the first clear confirmation that a new RPG is in development.
There are now two main ideas about what this game could be. One possibility is that it’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3, which many expect after the success of the first two games. The other rumor is more surprising, as some reports suggest it could be an open-world Lord of the Rings RPG. Warhorse has not confirmed or denied this, but there is talk that it could be a big AAA project with a large budget.
What is clear is that the studio is not changing direction. They said they are “sticking with what we know”, so they will keep focusing on RPGs instead of trying something completely different. For now, details are limited because the project is still in an early stage, but Bittner also mentioned that a reveal could happen in the “near future”, so we may not have to wait too long to see what this game really is.
