Umamusume: Pretty Derby‘s latest event, Aim for the Stars! Dream Team, is quite different from regular story events. In this event, you’ll have to scout a team and use it for races to obtain rewards, which include Rainbow Shards and valuable Carrats.
How To Play The Dream Team Event
The Dream Team Event can be accessed by clicking on its banner in the main menu. This will lead you to the event page. From here, you’ll have to pick a team captain first. The team captain is supposed to be a legacy of your own veteran Umamusume. For the rest of the six Umas for the 7v7 battles, you’ll have to scout the members.
Once you’ve picked the captain, you’ll have to enter scout races to gather more members for your team. By default, you start with a team of 6 other racers, who aren’t very good. Once you’ve won the first race, you’ll be able to scout an Umamusume from the opponent team and replace them with one of your members.

Each race consumes scout tickets, which can be obtained by completing missions and consuming items. However, another important resource to keep an eye on during the Dream Team event is the Scout Points.
You start with 2000 scout points by default. Now, every member that you scout costs these points, depending on their rating. A high rating Uma can easily cost over 1000 scout points. To gain scout points, you’ll have to enter the races, but not scout any members from that race.

If you keep winning the scout races, you’ll eventually gather tons of scout points, which can then be used to recruit more powerful members to your team.
Furthermore, after every three races, the conditions for the scout races will change. You’ll then have to adjust your team accordingly. Note that you can also change the team captain whenever you desire, depending on the race requirements.

As you recruit more Umas with high ratings, your team rank will grow. As your rank grows, you’ll be able to gain more rewards. To get the Rainbow Shard, you’ll have to reach the team rank of A4. The final ranking is S, which requires a team rating of a total of 150,000.
It’s best to scout Umas with different aptitudes, so even if the race condition doesn’t suit most of your team, you at least have one Uma that can win you the race.
