Developer Absam Studios has released MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run!, a survival horror that you can play by yourself or with friends. The goal is to survive in a procedurally generated maze while harvesting various resources crucial for survival. Escape is possible, but you must ensure you are well-fed and equipped for combat. Monsters pursue you and threaten your progress, but you can utilize enemy drops to your advantage.
Absam Studios is a team consisting of Sam and Abbie, with Sam discussing the game’s release. “Making a game from start to finish sometimes feels like navigating a maze of horrors, but the development journey we’ve been on has been the most rewarding experience of all our games,” said Absam Studios founder, Sam. “My wife and I wanted to build something that challenged players and created lasting memories, and having made MAZEBOUND together, it’s our love letter to crafting and survival games. ”

Each game of MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run! is procedurally generated, giving you a new challenge every time. Inventory space is limited, forcing you to make the most of what you have instead of brute-force tactics. Storage consists of a cart you push along, but weight, speed, and cart placement affect how fast you move. Crafting helps you upgrade your weapons while making use of enemy drops, but enemies get tougher the further you progress.
The game’s difficulty is balanced whether you play by yourself or with friends, providing a decent challenge in either mode. Just don’t stand still and keep moving, even while gathering resources, because you are never truly safe. There’s a competition for the 10 fastest “Runs” on the leaderboard that lasts until May 30th, motivating you to speed through quickly. If you are looking for a game that challenges you to balance risk and reward with friends, this is a good fit.
