In the sagely words of Mariah Carey, “it’s time!” Yes, it is once again time, as the Steam winter sale is officially starting tomorrow (December 18) at 10 AM PT! Running from then until January 5, the Steam winter sale will again be packed full of massive PC gaming discounts on everything from the year’s biggest hits to retro games of Christmas past. There’s bound to be something for everyone, so get ready to end the year by making your backlog even bigger.
The Steam winter sale is one of Steam’s major seasonal sales. They have one for each season through the year, but the summer and winter ones are typically the biggest and most hyped – likely because so many people are off school and work! This year’s winter sale starts at 10 AM PT – to add some more major global timezones that’s 1 PM ET, 6 PM UTC, 7 PM CET and 3 AM JST the following day.

We already have an idea what games will be included in the sale thanks to the Steam winter sale trailer that’s currently unlisted on their YouTube channel, but the ghost of Christmas present handily provided us with it. The list is massive, with the actual sale sure to be even bigger, but here are some select major highlights of games you can fill your stocking with for less this year:
- Borderlands 4
- Elden Ring Nightreign
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
- Dune: Awakening
- Dying Light: The Beast
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
- Digimon Story Time Stranger
- R.E.P.O.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Hades II
- Dispatch
- Deltarune
…and so many more we can’t even list them! But you’ll be free to browse all winter long starting tomorrow in the Steam winter sale. If you’re too spoilt for choice then maybe you should consider checking out some of our GameObserver Awards nominees.
