While Resident Evil Requiem continues to perform well, selling more than five million copies in five days, rumors have been spreading for months that Capcom is working on several new games in the series. One of the most talked-about projects is a possible Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, and recent comments from the voice actor of Albert Wesker have backed these rumors.
The actor, Craig Burnatowski, who voices Wesker, shared a message on X (formerly Twitter) that caught fans’ attention. He stated that in 2022, he “auditioned for a secret game for a secret company.” This timing has raised speculation, especially since it lines up with the anniversary of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Burnatowski also added, “I had no idea what I was walking into at the time, and I’m so grateful to be a part of this epic franchise! Soon the sun will set on the age of man.”

His words made fans wonder if he is returning as Wesker in a future Resident Evil project. Albert Wesker has had different voice actors over the years, including Richard Waugh and DC Douglas, so Burnatowski has not always been the voice of the character in the series. Still, many fans would welcome his return.
After his post, fans quickly started sharing their theories. Some believe this could point to a Resident Evil 5 remake, while others think it is more likely connected to a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, which has been rumored for a long time. At this point, it is still too early to confirm anything about a Resident Evil 5 remake, however, the idea of a Code: Veronica remake seems more likely, especially since known insiders have been talking about it for months. For now, all this is just speculation, and it’s best to wait and see if Capcom makes an official announcement.
In other news, Resident Evil Requiem Director Koshi Nakanishi has officially announced that a major story expansion DLC is in development.
