Rain World developer Videocult had a huge presence at today’s Akupara Direct, first featured in a collaboration with the upcoming desktop writing companion Working with Montabi, and closing the show with major announcements. They started off with the reveal of a collection of all current Rain World content—Rain World Anthology Edition—following that up with a release date for their multiplayer hoverbike racer Airframe Ultra.
The narrated trailer for Rain World Anthology Edition showed off the various campaigns from the base game of the cult classic survival platformer Rain World as well as its two excellent DLCs: Downpour and The Watcher. In total, this collection features nine playable characters (and one secret campaign), each with goals, locations, and abilities unique to their campaign. Together, they unveil a mysterious story, though you will have to prove your creativity, skill, and perseverance to see it to the end. Two physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 were also showcased: the premium physical edition and the collector’s edition, each with a different amount of extra goodies inside. Pre-orders are available now.
Airframe Ultra closed out the showcase, revealing a November 5, 2026 release date with a partially hand-animated trailer. This point-based multiplayer racer/brawler enamored my entire friend group during the February Steam Next Fest, where the game’s beta was playable. You’ll race between checkpoints using various hover bikes, after which you’ll hop off to do battle with your competitors using a wide variety of weapons. The first person to reach the winning point threshold and win the next checkpoint race wins the match. The game keeps the idea of tactile, unusual controls found in Rain World to create an adventurous multiplayer title.
