Fields of Mistria was first revealed during the 2023 Wholesome Direct, so it makes perfect sense that the announcement of the game’s full release would come in the 2026 broadcast. The magical farming simulation game achieved great popularity among the cozy game community in Early Access, and will be entering its full release later this year with the Version 1.0 update on August 5, 2026.
The game, which blends farming and life simulation elements with combat, exploration, crafting, and more, sees players moving to the titular idyllic village of Mistria to create the farm of their dreams. There, they can work to restore the town, befriend (and romance) a variety of NPCs, explore elemental-themed mines and caverns, and commune with the spirit of an ancient dragon to grow their magical powers. Its focus on magic sets Fields of Mistria apart from other titles in the genre: players can use spells to speed up the growth of plants, aid them in combat, and much, much more.
The 1.0 version of Fields of Mistria will add marriage and children to the game, as well as many new quests including the long-awaited conclusion of the “Town Restoration” storyline. New NPCs will be introduced, including some who developer NPC Studio has been teasing for years in the form of blacked-out character entries and silhouettes on the game’s Web site. The Wholesome Direct trailer showed off Stillwell, a new vendor who will show up at the Saturday Market, as well as the first in-person appearance of Baroness Linnet of Mistria, who has been away from the town for a long time.
Other features confirmed to be coming in the 1.0 update of Fields of Mistria – some revealed during the Wholesome Direct trailer, others as part of a roadmap shared by the developers in 2025 – include new dungeon quests and rewards, new Requests on the Request Board, new Museum sets and rewards, an increased Renown level cap, and a variety of new cosmetics such as house exteriors, mount skins, and furniture. One rather unexpected mount shown off in the Direct trailer appears to be a giant chicken!
August 5, 2026 will see the full release of Fields of Mistria Version 1.0 on PC via Steam. While Version 1.0 represents the completion of all storylines originally envisioned for the game, the roadmap on the official Web site currently reads “But 1.0 is only the beginning.” What more could be in the future for Fields of Mistria?
