A small clip from the upcoming Super Bowl commercial to celebrate Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary has been leaked online, and it teases a star-studded cast set to make an appearance. The snippet that has been shared on social media shows audio-less previews of celebrities being interviewed about certain Pokémon, including motorsports racer Charles Leclerc on his love for Arcanine, and pop royalty Lady Gaga talking about Jigglypuff.
With its love for singing, Jigglypuff is a perfect match for Lady Gaga, and it has us excited about what other spotlighted celebrities or Pokémon we can expect to appear in the upcoming Super Bowl advertisement scheduled to air during the show this Sunday. In the preview we can see Gengar, Arcanine and Jigglypuff, so we’re expecting a heavy Generation 1 emphasis, which is perhaps understandable given it’s such a momentous anniversary celebration.

It’s hard to believe the franchise is turning 30 this year, and what was once a new playground phenomenon is now aging into its 30s – but it’s the best-selling media franchise of all time so it all worked out for the best. The official teaser trailer for the Super Bowl advertisement shows Jigglypuff floating around in what we now know is the room in which Lady Gaga is interviewed, adding to the legitimacy of the above leaked clip. We’re looking forward to seeing what other surprises are in store when the full commercial airs this Sunday.
Will you be tuning into the Super Bowl? What other celebrities would you pair up with other Pokémon? We’d certainly have to give recent Fortnite icon Chappell Roan a Ponyta.
