It’s the beginning of the end, as Fortnite prepares to wrap up its current Season 2: Showdown, with the climactic live event ‘Shattered’ on June 5. Following that, Season 3: Runners will begin, and Fortnite just revealed the characters that will be featured in the upcoming Battle Pass surprisingly early.
Starting with the original and completely new characters, there’s a man wearing a wolf-like soldier outfit, a woman wearing a blindfold with gold and black clothing, a blonde lady wearing a fluffy cheetah print jacket with little other clothing, along with a duck wearing sunglasses. Sounds about right for Fortnite!
Moving on to returning characters though, Doctor Slone makes a surprising return with a new cosmetic that sees the former antagonist return in a new black and green techno-inspired outfit. There’s also PJ, a former item shop skin getting a new outfit and hairstyle and a mech-style skin being piloted by the returning Sprites.
Lastly, there’s the collabs. John Wick is back, being included in the Battle Pass with a “Pen & Ink” style complete with a matching dog Sidekick. The hitman known from the John Wick movie series has been in Fortnite before with a standard skin, along with being the inspiration of Chapter 1 Season 3’s The Reaper skin. Finally, streamer TheBurntPeanut gets added as a Sidekick.
We don’t quite know why Fortnite revealed their next Battle Pass quite so early. The return of Doctor Slone seems like a major surprise that would be saved for the Shattered event, but Epic wanted us to know now that she’s returning.
