Final Fantasy XIV celebrates holidays with special events that include quests as well as various minigames. Valentine’s season is no exception, and Final Fantasy XIV is celebrating the holiday with one of its most fun seasonal events ever: Valentione’s Day. The event is available from February 2 to 16, so be sure to complete it before it’s over.
To have access to this seasonal event, you will need to be level 15 and have completed the quest “It’s Probably Pirates.” Like many seasonal events in Final Fantasy XIV, you will start this limited event at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheater in Old Gridania. There, speak with Astrid to begin the quest “The Icing on the Cake.”
After speaking with Astrid, wait at the designated location just outside of the Amphitheater. Kupka Kupp will arrive and explain how the mammets have gone rogue. After you agree to help, speak with the Pâtissier to access the event’s minigame location. You can access this duty alone, or with a party.
The event’s minigame consists of decorating cakes while avoiding the angry mammets. There is a timer, so be sure to complete as many cakes as you can. With each cake completed, the mammets become more aggressive. You will also find a trumpet in your inventory that can be used to briefly stun them. Once you’ve completed all the cakes or the time runs out, you’ll be rewarded with chocolates that can be used to purchase rewards later.
After the minigame is over and you are back in Gridania, speak to Kupna Kuko close to the Lancers Guild. Then, return to Astrid to finish the quest and receive your reward; a tabletop cake decoration.
When the quest is done, you can speak to the Valentione’s Maid outside of the Amphitheater to buy items with the chocolates you just earned. You can revisit the minigame to earn more chocolates during the remainder of the event.
