A new event has arrived in the Final Fantasy XIV realm. This time, The Maiden’s Rhapsody event will have you following the story of a journalist, acting as a bodyguard, and seeing memories from another Final Fantasy game. For this event, make sure you are at least Level 30. The event will be available from May 8, 2026, to May 25, 2026. This isn’t the first time this event and its quests have been available. You can continue from where you left off previously, or if you completed the quest already, you can use the Seasonal Event Replay feature. However, repeating the quest won’t grant you the rewards again.
To begin, head to Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa (X:11.6 Y:11.2), speak with Remumu, and accept the quest “A Journey to Remember.” Remumu will explain that she is a journalist with the Harbor Herald, and that she is following the story of a mysterious warrior who’s been roaming around. Remumu asks for your help as a bodyguard and then agrees to meet at Costa del Sol. Travel to Costa del Sol’s Aetheryte, Remumu should be by its side. While speaking with Remumu, the warrior herself, Iroha (Final Fantasy XI), will join the conversation. Iroha explains her memory problems, but she does remember that she needs to go back home to Selbina, which is another world entirely. Iroha suggests that mastering the Amatsu: Kyori technique in combat might help her regain her memory. The Warrior of Light agrees to help.

Next, head southeast in Costa del Sol, coordinates X:32.5 Y:32.7. Here, you should find the FATE “Our Favorite Pastime.” Since it’s a FATE, you might arrive at the location and nothing will happen. But FATEs are timed, so wait a few minutes, and it should appear. When it does, help Iroha defeat the Robber Crabs. Since FATEs are also public, other players can join and make the task easier. When the Crabs are defeated, you will receive a Strange Stone. Head back to Limsa Lominsa, coordinates X:11.1 Y: 10.9, and give the Strange Stone to Iroha. A quick flashback of Final Fantasy XI will appear, but Iroha explains that this is not enough, and a more challenging combat is needed for more of these visions to appear.
The next objective will have you traveling to Bentbranch Meadows. Head to the Haukke Manor at coordinates X:11.6 Y:22.8. Here, another FATE awaits, a more challenging one, so be ready for it. After the FATE is done, you will get an Aurastone Shard. This time, go to Gridania at the Adventurers’ Guild, and Iroha will be inside waiting for you to give her the Stone. Another FFXI vision, but again, it’s not enough. For the next FATE, go to Sagolii Desert in Thanalan, coordinates X:22.7 Y:36.9. Wait for the FATE to commence and eliminate the more challenging beast. After defeating the beast, you will get an Orastone Shard, which you will also give to Iroha at The Quicksand in Ul’dah. Iroha will tell you more about her home, but to end the quest, we’ll go to Camp Bronze Lake for the final FATE.

At the Bronze Lake, coordinates X:26.8 Y:22.6, you will find a “Destination” icon; select it to commence the FATE “The Key To Amatsu: Kyori.” This one is a stronger foe, so it is recommended that you wait for a couple more players to arrive and have an easier time. After defeating the enemies, head back to Ihora in Limsa Lominsa at the same spot as before (X:11.1 Y: 10.9). After a quick talk, report back to Remumu at the Upper Decks. When you speak with Remumu, Iroha will tell you more about her story. I won‘t spoil the ending, but I will just say that if you play Final Fantasy XI, you will enjoy this moment. After saying goodbye, you will get the rewards, which include:
- Amatsu Hachigane
- Amatsu Togi
- Pair of Amatsu Tekko
- Amatsu Haidate
- Pair of Amatsu Sune-ate
Unfortunately, there are no shops available for this event, but the quest and armor rewards are high-quality enough to compensate for that. For more Final Fantasy XIV guides, stay tuned to GameObserver.
