Debuting for the first time during the 2026 Wholesome Direct broadcast, Book Nook is the newest project from Malapata Studio, the developers of cozy hit Camper Van: Make it Home. Book Nook brings the comfy pastel aesthetic and relaxing puzzle and organization-based gameplay of Camper Van into a whole new setting.

In Book Nook, players make their very own – well, book nook. These adorable bookshelf inserts have been rapidly growing in popularity due to their intricate designs, the relaxing nature of putting them together, and the satisfying feeling that comes from snapping each segment into the perfect place. Book Nook recreates that feeling as players build their nook from the ground up, first cutting out pieces before snapping them together and gradually adding more furniture and decorations. Players can add everything from comfy chairs to baskets of flowers to even tiny brooms and other cleaning supplies as they create their ideal book nook.
If you’ve ever wanted to try out making a book nook but don’t have the time, money, crafting skills or shelf space to do it, then Book Nook is the perfect game for you. Designed “without [a] timer and without pressure,” Book Nook is all about the simple pleasure of creating an adorable scene with absolutely nothing rushing you along. In the trailer, an elderly craftsman watches the scene of a couple dwelling inside the book nook with tears in his eyes, possibly hinting at an emotional story paired with the game’s cozy aesthetic and relaxing pace.

Book Nook is currently planned to release on PC sometime in 2026. A demo is currently available to try out via Steam – interested players can check it out now! In addition, cozy game fans can take a look at some of the 50+ other announcements featured in the 2026 Wholesome Direct. It’s the perfect time of year to expand your cozy collection with Book Nook and other titles.
