ARC Raiders Adds Denuvo, But Without The Feared DRM

ARC Raiders is still dealing with one of the biggest problems for any online shooter, which is cheaters using aimbots and wallhacks, causing frustration for normal players. Because of this, Embark Studios has announced that the game is officially introducing Denuvo Anti-Cheat starting today, as part of Patch 1.29.0.

The rollout will happen in phases. At first, the software is only being activated for a limited group of players so the developers can monitor servers closely and test the system before expanding it to the full player base. The studio said it decided to add Denuvo Anti-Cheat after the same system had a successful rollout in its other live-service game, THE FINALS.

ARC Raiders will not use Denuvo’s DRM service.

They stated, “We want to continue improving our anti-cheat solutions and more accurately detect foul play across the Rust Belt. Following a positive rollout in THE FINALS, Denuvo Anti-Cheat will also come to ARC Raiders starting May 19th, initially to a limited player pool, with plans to expand after close monitoring. We will not be using Denuvo’s Digital Rights Management.”

Another thing that will clearly make players happy is that Embark Studios confirmed that ARC Raiders will not use Denuvo DRM, the system many PC players complain about due to performance-related reasons. They also explained that they’re actively working to make sure the anti-cheat system has as little impact on game performance as possible.

It’s also worth noting that anti-cheat is not the only addition in Patch 1.29.0. The update also adds a new trader named Ermal, connected to the Nomadic Envoys faction, available for players starting at level 25. Players will also get access to the Rascal grenade launcher, made to fight armored ARC enemies. The patch further includes balance changes, weapon durability adjustments, audio improvements, bug fixes, and a new option that lets players block others after reporting them. In other news, ARC Raiders has officially passed 16 million sales worldwide, with nearly five million copies sold in early 2026 alone.
