Meta has officially added the Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition to its Meta Horizon+ subscription, giving Quest headset users access to a library of more than 50 Xbox games at no extra cost. This gives Quest users more than 50 Xbox games on top of the 100+ VR games already included with the subscription. In total, subscribers can now play more than 150 games.
The Xbox Game Pass Starter library includes titles such as Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Grounded, Overcooked 2, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, and SnowRunner. The same game lineup is also available on Xbox consoles and Windows PC through the Game Pass Starter tier.
Subscribers also receive 10 hours of cloud gaming each month, allowing them to stream supported Xbox games directly onto a large virtual screen inside their Quest headset without downloading them. Xbox Rewards are included as well, letting players earn points while they play.
Meta also announced a new gamepad emulator that will begin rolling out in the coming weeks. The update lets Quest Touch controllers work like an Xbox controller, so players can enjoy supported games without pairing a separate Bluetooth gamepad. Standard Xbox controllers will still be supported for those who prefer them. If you didn’t know, Meta Horizon+ costs $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. The subscription now includes Xbox Game Pass Starter at no extra cost, giving members access to both VR games and more than 50 Xbox games under a single subscription.
In other Game Pass news, Forza Horizon 5 director Mike Brown believes Xbox Game Pass was a good idea, but it failed because it didn’t attract enough subscribers to meet Microsoft’s expectations. In addition, Xbox has reportedly stopped signing new third-party games for Game Pass, with several developers saying negotiations have been put on hold.
