One of the most praised games of last year will soon be available on all platforms. During the recent Xbox Partner Preview, it was confirmed that Hades II will launch on April 14 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With this release, the game will end its temporary console exclusivity on Nintendo Switch. Until now, it was only available on Nintendo consoles and PC due to publishing agreements. Now, many more players will be able to play it, and there is especially good news for Xbox users.
Although no official update was announced during the event, the trailer shown included potentially unseen footage. This has led to speculation that a new update or patch could be coming. Even though Supergiant Games is not known for frequent large updates, it is likely that more content could be added to improve an already strong experience.
What has been officially confirmed is that the game will be available on Game Pass from day one of the console release, will support the Play Anywhere program, and will also be playable through Microsoft’s cloud gaming services.
“The version coming to Xbox includes all the post-launch patches released for other platforms, including additional quality-of-life improvements and some bonus content, making this the most complete version of the game yet,” Xbox said in an official blog post on its website.
Hades II was the highest-rated game of 2025, reaching a score of 95 on Metacritic. Its arrival on more platforms should be seen as very positive by those who have been waiting to play it on other consoles. The game already runs very well on the original Switch and Switch 2, so performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is expected to be even better. Any possible new content would also be a welcome addition for both new and returning players.
