The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds roster continues to grow with characters from other SEGA and outside franchises, like SpongeBob, Hatsune Miku, and Red from Angry Birds. Today, SEGA officially announced that the latest free racer to join is none other than Goro Majima from the Like a Dragon franchise. Majima will be making his Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds debut on Wednesday, April 29, at 5:00 PM PT.
Majima is a very unique character in the Like a Dragon franchise, using multiple iconic outfits and personas throughout the series. For CrossWorlds, Majima will be joining with his Pirate outfit and theme from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. You will automatically receive the free Captain Majima content if you own either the Standard or Digital Deluxe versions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Just make sure your game is updated to the latest version.
The free Content Drop includes the following:
- Goro Majima (Captain Majima) as a playable character.
- Goro Majima (Captain Majima)’s vehicle, the Goromaru.
- Special emotes and sounds.

Besides the Content Drop, players can join the Online mode to earn Festival Points for decals, gadgets, and more. If you’ve been wanting to try the game, you will be able to do so for free during the Sonic Racing: CrossWorld’s Steam Free Weekend from Thursday, April 30, at 10:00 AM PT through Monday, May 4, at 10:00 AM PT. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is also currently on sale on Steam with a 40% discount until May 7.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds receives both free and paid content. According to the roadmap, the next free racer is Arle from Puyo Puyo, who should be arriving in a May update. As for the paid characters, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be joining as the next DLC pack, with an estimated Q2 2026 release date.
