Earlier this year, on April 23, Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter released its first episode to a warm reception on Steam, sitting at a 90% positive rating out of 306 total reviews at the time of writing. The Danganronpa– and Ace Attorney-inspired mystery visual novel with card battling elements from Mango Factory opted for an episodic release format, and today, during the Akupara Direct, the release window for its second episode has been revealed: November 2026.
Alongside the release date, Mango Factory showed off a short trailer for this seemingly, at least partially, beach-themed episode titled Gloomy Shojo Sunday. The cast will have to look high-and-wide, room-by-room, to find clues in a newly unlocked, giant location. The footage heavily hints at the victim of the episode’s murder, so be careful if you’re looking out for spoilers.

Other than the beach, one of the locations shown off was a freezer area, which, presumably after splitting up the party, is investigated by the protagonist Himari, alongside Hiroshi, Kaguya, Nisuke and Tamotsu. Kaguya, from what was shown, inexplicably gets her tongue stuck to the icy floor upon trying to lick it, before the footage cuts off to a grisly scene and a shot of a pool of blood dripping into the water.
Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter is available on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. At the time of writing, you can purchase it at a 30% discount on all three platforms during the ongoing Akupara Games 10th Anniversary Sale.
