It’s the end of an era, as Dead by Daylight‘s first collaboration DLC is leaving the game after being available for almost a decade. The Halloween DLC will be delisted from all platforms next month on January 19 2026, making both Michael Myers killer ‘The Shape’ and survivor Laurie Strode inaccessible to new players. Those who already own the DLC, or buy it on sale between now and its delisting date, will get to keep the characters. However, the Haddonfield map will be removed entirely for all players.
The perks that these characters had to power up your killer or survivors will remain unlockable under their original names until January 19, after which point they will be renamed for new players and be placed into the general perk pool for all players. The DLC cosmetics will also be unavailable after the delisting date, but players will still be able to unlock the prestige cosmetics for these characters even after that date, so long as they own the characters.

The timing of this delisting coincides with the release period of IllFonic and Gun Interactive’s upcoming Halloween multiplayer survival game, which is currently set for a 2026 release. Whilst not officially reported, it’s likely that the rights to the Halloween characters and their likeness are not being renewed with Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight to create a more exclusive Halloween experience with the upcoming title.
This is the second collaboration to leave Dead by Daylight this year, following the delisting of Pinhead and the Hellraiser DLC content back in April. For more coverage on all things Dead by Daylight and more horror gaming news and reviews, keep your eyes on GameObserver.
