Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Reportedly Set For April 16 Reveal

It looks like fans may not have to wait much longer for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. After months of rumors, a new report now suggests that Ubisoft could officially announce the remake on April 16. The rumor first surfaced through ResetERA user BlackBate and was later corroborated by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, giving it more credibility. Henderson has also backed the same timeframe, noting that Ubisoft had already been aiming for a “mid-April” reveal.

In addition, internal documents obtained by the outlet point to a summer 2026 release window, most likely between June and August, with some sources pointing more specifically in the middle to July, even if the official reveal ends up being delayed. This would mean that there may be only a short gap between the announcement and the actual launch.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced release date
Ubisoft officially confirmed the development of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced last month.

A July release would also make sense for Ubisoft, as launching the remake in summer would give the company around four months to boost sales before the highly anticipated release of GTA VI, which will likely dominate the market later in the year. Releasing earlier would give Ubisoft a better chance to attract players and generate revenue before stronger competition arrives.

While Tom Henderson has a solid track record, this should still be treated with caution until Ubisoft officially confirms the date, especially given the publisher’s history of shifting release plans.

For Ubisoft, Black Flag Resynced is expected to be one of its most important releases for the current fiscal period. The company is currently going through a difficult time, with recent titles like Star Wars Outlaws failing to meet expectations, alongside ongoing cost-cutting measures and internal restructuring that have placed several major projects and studio teams at risk. As a result, Ubisoft will likely look to Black Flag—which originally sold over 11 million copies—to help support stable revenue.
