Amazon’s Pokémon Pokopia Pre-Order Bonus Revealed

The first third-party pre-order bonus for the upcoming life simulation game Pokémon Pokopia has been revealed, with this one coming from online retailer giant Amazon. Fans who pre-order Pokémon Pokopia in time for its March 5 release date will receive… a flat leaf plant! It’s not the most exciting pre-order bonus ever, but at least we got another look at the charming and adorable Pokémon Pokopia with the accompanying screenshot of the plant in action.

Gamers across the internet are mocking the reveal for just how lackluster it is on paper, and honestly, we can see their point. One post on X (formerly Twitter) already has over 28,000 likes, simply reading “most depressing pre-order gift I have ever seen in my life.” The flat-leaf plant does look somewhat bland, especially as even its name is uninspiring. As if that wasn’t basic enough, it’s also potted in a plain white container. There’s nothing Pokémon about it, it’s just a plant, but at least it’s something!

Players will create their own town in Pokémon Pokopia, and Amazon is providing a single potted plant to help.

If you’re looking for a pre-order bonus with a little more substance, maybe something less flat and virtual, all pre-orders from the official Pokémon Center will come with a Ditto plush toy! These ‘Sitting Cuties’ plush toys are usually around $15 individually, so that’s quite the bargain for a free extra. Fans in the UK meanwhile are spoilt for choice, as they can choose between a tote bag, a travel bag, or even a reusable mug with either their digital or physical purchases of Pokémon Pokopia from the official Nintendo store.
