Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds continues to add characters to its roster through both DLC and free updates. From SpongeBob to Ichiban Kasuga, anyone has a chance to cross a travel ring and make it into Sonic’s world. The latest to join the cast is Red from Angry Birds, and most importantly, he is available now for free. Yes, every player will automatically receive the Angry Birds Content Drop. Just make sure your game is up to date so the content downloads properly.
The Content Drop includes:
- Red from Angry Birds as a playable character
- Red’s vehicle, the Super Roaster
Also, special emotes and sounds, including 3 new songs added to the Jukebox:
- “Go! Theme”
- “Go! Theme (Final Lap)”
- “Angry Birds Theme”
This is just one of many characters to join the game as part of the free character updates. Other free additions include Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona, and more. Next on the list is another character from the Like a Dragon series: Goro Majima, appearing in his pirate-themed outfit. Free character updates, however, do not include new tracks. Tracks are added through the DLC updates, though they can still be played for free. The latest DLC pack is the Mega Man bundle, and next, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be joining the race.
In addition to Red’s content, a new Angry Birds-themed Festival begins today and will be available until April 19. You can join the Festival through the Online menu. As mentioned in our Revisit Review, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is not only handling its live-service elements well, but its kart racing gameplay continues to evolve with each new character added.
